Hey you, Malaysian!

Being here, it is hardly that I ever meet Malaysians, at all.

Nak di jadikan cerita; there was this one day (Chehchehcheh, macam dah lama dekat sini), I was out shopping, and I saw this Malaysian (or looked like Malaysian) girl walking around, alone. I was excited.

So I went up to her, all giddy (and very happy to have found a Malaysian) and I think I actually shouted, "Hey, YOU! Malaysian!!!" while I jumped my way over to her.

Obviously she looked at me like I was crazy.
Anyway, I was right.
She was indeed Malaysian.

I asked her where she was working and she said St Felipe Street, but she seemed quite reluctant to build a conversation with me. Then I told her, "Eh, I orang Malaysia juga la."

Here I was, excited to have found a Malaysian;
(Ye la, macam orang Kelantan jumpa orang Kelantan dekat KL, tak ke terus peluk cium, ha that's how I felt when I saw another Malaysian di sini, tapi she seemed quite scared of me. Ha ha ha)
And then, something struck me.
I must have scared her.

Usually when someone creepy comes over to me, I would try to avoid communication or share any personal information, well, because that person was creepy and I didn't want to end up dead or something.

So yeah, I must have appeared as this creepy chic to her, that's why she was so scared to build a conversation with me. Ha ha ha!!!!

Either that, or I look too much like a Kim Kardashian , so she thought I was lying to her when I told her I was Malaysian too. HAHAHAHAHA.

** Anyway, she told me she was going back for good the following day, and come to think of it, I don't even know if it is the truth of if she just wanted to avoid from ever seeing me again! LOL!

I don't miss the Sun anymore.

Houston is really, really, REALLY, hot.

Before I came here, I mentally prepared myself for a weather somehow similar like Malaysia, well, probably something like Cameron Highlands, but NOoOOO, it is actually much hotter than Kuala Lumpur at 12noon.

Cuaca dia macam KL time matahari betul-betul terik, macam pada pukul 12 tengahari, but it's like that, ALL DAY LONG.
Dari pukul 8 pagi sampai 6 petang.
Panas macam tu.

Well, anyway, I'm loving it here.

I don't miss the Sun, anymore. I miss you, though.

XOXO

Summer Hours.

I love the work culture here.

I work 8am until 5pm from Monday until Thursday,
And 8am until noon for Friday!

Kiranya kerja 4 days and a half sahaja lah per week.
And of course, setiap hari, from Monday - Thursday, selalunya by 4pm semua orang pun dah balik lah.

And of course, by 530pm, the office is almost pitch black.

*Conversation at 5.05pm*
"Why are you still in front of the PC? (looks at watch) Is everything OKAY? Oh my, it's late! Go back home."

Howdy!

I know I should be updating more about my life here.

Anyway, just a quick update, di sini saya amat penat bercakap Bahasa Inggeris 24/7.
Serious berbelit-belit lidah nak bercakap Inggeris sepanjang masa.

Lagi-lagi nak campur dengan 'slang' kan cheh cheh cheh.
Kadang-kadang slang 'kalah' Mat Salleh.

Kelantan ini, lidah dia dah bunyi macam 'Italian' sikit, so bila cakap English, orang mesti ada mistaken dengan Eh are you Italian?

Hahahaha whatever. (Gomo kelate, gomo)

Justin Bieber

If you know me well enough, you would know that one of the things I hated to do the most is to sing.

In specific, karaoke.

I would never join karaoke sessions, and even if I do, I would just, oh well, mind my own business, play with my handphone, read the lyrics, eat, drink, dance, whatever that doesn't involve singing.
I hate to sing because I suck at singing.
I think the pathway of my nostrils are really blocked and I have limited air flowing in and out of my nose.
LOL (Alasan)

Well, as part of my farewell celebration, my friends thought it would be amazing if I spent my last night in Malaysia, hmmm, to karaoke.
Yeah FUNNY YOU GUYS (Aren't they just amazing? He he he)

Dah la kena paksa menyanyi, lepas habis menyanyi kena kutuk pulak tu.
Kalau kena kutuk dekat real life sahaja tak apa, ini siap sambung kutuk-kutuk dekat Twitter.

Ha ha. Oh nasib.
Well, anyway, what's important is, we had great fun.

I love you guys.

Tips in America #1

Oh yeah,
Today I learnt, that when we dine in restaurants, we have to give tips.
(Well, I've always knew, but I didn't know how much exactly I'd have to give)

So here goes, some standard practise:

15% from your total spending - for an OK service
20% from your total spending - for an excellent service *two thumbs up*

So yeah, the waitress/waitresses would be expecting you to give tips, and even when you pay with your debit/credit card, they would return back the receipt to you together with a note on how much tips you want to give, and you should probably give cash as tips.

That, or you buat-buat bodoh je lah and walk away without giving anything.
HA HA HA!

Houston, We Have A Problem

My flight ticket is FINALLY confirmed.

Initially I was supposed to fly off on 13th September; so Mama bought her flight ticket to London on 15th September (she is going to London to send my little brother to further his studies there) and Daddy bought his ticket to Jakarta on 17th September morning (meeting).

However, due to some complications, my flight is now on 17th September (night), and now, BOTH MY PARENTS WON'T BE AROUND TO SEND ME OFF TO THE AIRPORT WHEN I GO OFF TO US. *cries*......... *continue crying*

United States of America.

I graduated with BBA (Hons) Business Admins Marketing Multimedia back in 2006. I graduated locally. (Multimedia University for the win!)

Both my parents are lawyers, and they graduated from Buckingham University, UK, and ALL my siblings studied (and/or will study) in the UK.

Upon completing my Degree, I was supposed to continue for my Masters in USA but when I was offered to work with Shell Malaysia in April 2007, I thought, what the heck, scrap the MBA.

Why?

It was because the only main reason I wanted to do my MBA was because I wanted to live overseas LOL and that would be just ridiculous.

I managed to convince Daddy to give me that money for other investments instead -___- (Shoes, maybe? LOL)

I told myself (and my parents) that I would join a multinational company and work globally instead.

Daddy gave me 5 years to achieve this, failing so, he would STILL want me to have an international education, to expose me globally.

And that was why I joined Shell.
For it's global opportunities.

And, Alhamdulilah,

Four years down the road, next week to be exact,
I will be leaving to United States to become the Industry Lubs Marketing Manager for USA & Canada.

Alhamdulilah.
I write this because for the past few days I was busy packing my life away, and for the past few weeks, it has been a blur, and somehow, I still can't believe this is happening.

Mixed emotions.

Selamat Datang!

I didn't think anyone read or even remembers this blog.

Cheh.
Padahal tak reti pakai Tumblr, sebab tu nak pakai blogspot balik.
Chehchehcheh.
