Sabah Food

Rasanya, kalau duduk dekat Sabah lama-lama, boleh jadi obese.
Makan tak henti.
Semua benda pun sedap.
(Tapi bila seluar ketat dah tak sedap la -_-)

Ketam masak butter.
Semua jenis ketam dah try sebenarnya, Black Pepper, Sauteed Egg, Curry, Pedas, Chilli, Pepper, Dry, Steamed, ANYTHING, you name it, semua dah makan.
Very delicious, and very cheap!

Some of the photos of the Food that I took..
(I was too busy eating.... nyum nyum, so I forgot to take MOST of the photos)

Hahaha excuse the ugly looking fish.
As I took a photo of it, Alfian ate it's stomach -___-

And of course... kena la makan something weird jugak kan....
Siput babi.
HAHAHAHAHAH
HAHAHA OKAY SO IT'S NOT SIPUT BABI -__-
I don't know what it is, they call it Shell in Sabah.
Hahahaha..
Alfian said it reminds him of Siput Babi eeewww
But I ate them anyways :P

Look at it.. nyummy CHEWWWYYY

If you want some local taste, you should then go to Filipino Market.

Look at the size of the prawns!!
As I was chatting with one of the stall owners, she asked me to try this seaweed.

Nampak agak gross kan?
Benda ni diorang tak masak pun, just take from the sea and rendam-rendam dalam air and serve it on my plate -__-

I got Chia Yinn to try them as well... He he he

They put this on the table, you're supposed to make your own sauce, it's chilli, ajinomoto & lime.
Campur dengan kicap.
Makan dengan seaweed tu.

The seaweed tasted funny.
Crunchy and masam-masam sikit.
Tapi boleh makan la, once you cicah with the soy sauce :P

And ya, last but not least,
Sila makan the famous Beef Noodle at Hilltop.

Okay so this is the reason WHY my pants/clothes sudah ketat and WHY I need to do shopping this CNY Holiday.

(shifty eyes)

I Wrote This For You #5

And though the waves might bring you down and though the currents might pull you under,
The sky is always still right above you.

You just need to look at the sky.

View from the Top

They say when you are in Sabah, going to Poring Hot Spring is a must.
So off to Poring; we went.

By the way, the name Poring, (eventhough sounds like boring, it is actually not boring -_-) comes from a Kadazan word for a bamboo species found in that area :)

"OK my darling children, this is how a Bamboo looks like"
(FYI this picture is a reference for my future kids, in case bamboo becomes extinct in the future)

If you explore the Poring Springs, you will soon find a waterwall
(That is... after climbing up the hill for 9,999,999,999 kilometres.....)

Okay so it's not 9,999,999,999 kms up the hill.
Officially it's only 1km climb, but to me it felt like 9,999,999,999 kms -_-

Inside the Poring Hot Springs, there's this Canopy Walk which is 160 metres long and 41 metres high -_-

It was a little creepy, especially at the peak.
I mean, bila you pandang bawah, like -_-
But for those too scared/no stamina/etc to climb Mount Kinabalu (like me haha), this canopy walk is good enough of a view :P

7 Years Old

Someone told me that I haven't been writing about the Little Monster for quite some time now.
:)

Well, just to update everyone,
He is now in Standard 1 and is very happy at his new school.

And he is still as charming as ever :)

The Silence

Hey everyone.
This is the view from my room.

Yes, I am in the land below the wind.
Sabah, in case you don't know -_-

And,
I have nothing interesting to say to you today.

I Wrote This For You #4

This is my skin.

It keeps out the rain
and words I'd rather not hear like "I'm tired" or "I'm fine" or "We need to talk."

This is my skin and it's thick.

This is not your skin.
Yet, you are still under it.

Straits Quay Wonder

Greetings, from Penang Island.

The view from my room.
I was practically glued to my bed,
together with Hot Chocolate in my hands, just enjoying the view from the room.

At work, I got this.

Isn't it just the cutest Thumb Drive you've ever seen? :P

At night, I had this crazy craving for Ribs & Affogato (as usual), so I went to this new 'chic' place called Straits Quay.

Do you know Straits Quay?

It's my latest favorite hang out place of all times (in Malaysia)
He he he

Isn't it just beautiful?
It's a shopping mall & residences (few condos & bungalows).
(Yes, imagine the price..........)

My Boss asked me if I'd like to move here.
(Like hello?? Of course???)
I asked him if Shell would pay for it, and he told me "Yes, Shell will give you a tent to set up IN FRONT of Straight Quay."
FML -_-

Anyway, I fell in love with the place immediately.
It's so romantic.

And I have always been a sucker for romantic places -__-

I don't really dig the shopping outlets, because obviously nothing beats KL's shopping (in Malaysia).

But the dining experience, it's a whole new level.

You dine facing the sea, with the stars and the moon up in the air.
You know... the priceless quietness sound of the peaceful water.
And there's even a light house nearby.
With ferries passing by.
*dreamy eyes*

And THE awesome lighting.

I mean, just LOOK AT THIS YOURSELF..

How romantic is that?

And the best part?
They have Affogato and also, live orchestra!

Strawberries up in the Mountain

Hello, everyone.
Where am I?

Guess.

Guess.....

Yes!
Cameron Highlands!

Finally -_-
I think the last time I was up here was when I was 8 years old.
When I was a weird kid with no friends.
Hahahaha okay let's not go down that memory lane.

Picture taken at the Bharat Tea House.
Okay, I am actually WORKING, not on a holiday FML!

This is what I call, "Market Intelligence" ha ha ha tak habis-habis market intelligence.
As part of the job, I need to understand the trade economics of the area, this, in my opinion, includes me drinking the lovely Tea and eating the strawberries as well!

Yes, how am I expected to grow the business if I don't even know what's good in the area, no?
-_-
(Boss, justify tak explanation macam ni? -_-)

Anyway, some interesting things I found up there.
The fruits!
Weird, weird looking fruits.

I made friends with one of the biggest fruit plantation owner there, and he gave me this fruit called The Miracle Fruit.
Lepas makan Miracle Fruit tu, semua benda pun jadi manis.

It's so small, as small as a seed.
And, lepas makan Miracle Fruit tu, Mr Fong aka the owner, made me eat lemon just like that.
And, surprisingly, the lemon tasted sweet!
-_-

Good for people on diet watch. Or diabetic.

Oh ya.. the one thing I loved the most is the Kailan.
So fresh.

Cameron Highlands is very popular with tourists, and despite it being quite a small area, the amount of businesses that is operating up there is remarkable.

And it has become way congested during the weekends and school holidays, which is good for the Shell business up there too :)

(Why am I talking like this is a work report?)

FYI I don't really like strawberries, I know, I'm lame like that.
( I prefer Jagung. Hahahaha biasa lah budak kampung -_-)

Mana ada ladang Jagung?

The Cool Crowd

I haven't been blogging lately, have I?

It's just, too much is happening and I just, never could find the right words to say it.
Oh well.

Anyway, couple days ago, I was driving alone, you know, doing some market intelligence,
and it felt so peaceful to enjoy the beautiful scenary.

(Cheh, market intelligence konon, padahal sesat hahaha wtf -_-)
As I was driving, I got a little depressed because I was alone, and I kind of miss my life back in KL..

Then, what a wonderful surprise.
Tiba-tiba ada satu group datang convoy together with me.
I call them the COOL CROWD.

Meet the "COOL CROWD"

Like really, there were 30 of them!

Blocking my road.. Hahaha.. Walking with me.
I got so fascinated with them.
Even drove side by side with them.

Macho siot kambing putih yang ada tanduk melengkok tu.
Okay, people say I'm weird when I make that statement, but what the heck.

Selalu ke kita dapat convoy dengan kambing?
